Self-Directed Brokerage Account Enhancements
The MO Deferred Comp Plan’s record keeper and brokerage account provider Schwab are in the process of enhancing and simplifying the self-directed brokerage account, also referred to as the Schwab PCRA (Personal Choice Retirement Account). If you have assets within the PCRA, you should have received a letter in February outlining these improvements and providing additional important information. If you do not have assets within the PCRA, these changes will not affect you.
Your PCRA may contain assets from both your 457 and 401 retirement savings accounts. The goal of the account enhancement is to allow you to easily distinguish, track and control your 457 plan assets and your 401 plan assets separately.
To facilitate these enhancements, trading in the PCRAs and transfers to and from core investment line-up funds will be restricted between 03/03/2025 to 03/10/2025 (Black-Out Period). Trading and transfers will be re-instated on 03/11/2025. During the Black-Out Period, your assets will remain invested in the market. When the changes are complete, any 401 assets in the current PCRA will move to the new401 PCRA.
Upon the opening of your new PCRA on the effective date, you will receive in the mail a new Welcome Kit and Account Verification Letter to access your new accounts online. Once online you will see two separate accounts, one account will contain your 457 brokerage assets, and the other will contain your401 brokerage assets. Please note, in order to trade in your new account online, you must electronically complete the PCRA Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA) agreement.
After receiving your PCRA Account Verification letter, follow the steps below to complete the LPOA form online and begin trading in your new account online:
- Login to www.schwab.com/pcraopen.
- Enter TD08904472 as the Retirement Plan ID, 8904472 as your Plan Access Code, and your Social Security number.
- Click on Submit.

We understand that these improvements and the Black-Out Period may be an inconvenience, but the process will result in more convenience and capabilities for self-directed brokerage users. Should you have any questions, please contact the MO Deferred Compensation Plan at 1-800-392-0925.
